Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the CPR Leadership Alignment Model, its purpose and how it can be used.

What is the CPR Leadership Alignment Model?

The CPR Leadership Alignment Model is a framework developed by Lubos Lendvay for examining leadership through the alignment of three dimensions: Character, Purpose and Responsibility. Rather than focusing on leadership behaviours alone, it explores the coherence between who a leader is, why they lead and how they exercise responsibility through their influence.

Who is the model for?

The model is designed for leaders, coaches and organisations seeking a structured way to reflect on leadership. It is relevant to senior leaders navigating complex decisions, emerging leaders developing self-awareness, and coaches supporting clients in examining alignment between identity, intention and action.

Is the CPR Model a validated diagnostic instrument?

No. The CPR Leadership Alignment Model is not currently presented as a validated diagnostic instrument. It is a practical reflective framework developed through lived experience, coaching practice and ongoing application. It is not presented as an empirically validated diagnostic tool or as an academic theory. The model continues to evolve through application, dialogue and feedback.

How is the model used in practice?

The model can be used in leadership coaching, workshops, strategic decision-making and organisational culture work. It provides a shared language for exploring alignment and tension across the three dimensions, and supports reflection at both a whole-model level and within each individual dimension.

How does the CPR Leadership Alignment Model relate to CPR Reflect?

CPR Reflect is an AI-supported leadership reflection platform built around the CPR Leadership Alignment Model. The model provides the underlying framework of Character, Purpose and Responsibility, while CPR Reflect uses structured reflection and open-ended questions to help users explore leadership situations through that framework.

How does the model relate to other leadership frameworks?

The individual concepts of character, purpose and responsibility each belong to broader traditions of thinking about leadership, ethics and human development. The model's contribution lies in the particular way these dimensions are brought together into a single integrative framework, rather than in deriving from any one existing theory.

How can I engage with the model?

You can explore the model through the pages on this site, or make an enquiry about coaching, workshops and speaking. Initial conversations are without obligation, and all coaching work is conducted in accordance with the ICF Code of Ethics and applicable professional standards.
